Slovenia & Croatia – March-April 2018

This easter saw us take a group of nine Bangor University student to Slovenia & Croatia in an attempt to locate new locations and habitats to survey. We were successful in finding 23 species including some highlight species such as Salamandra salamandra and Vipera ammodytes. Despite knee-deep snow during the first half of the expedition we were able to avoid a fruitless day and went on to add to the species list daily. These frosty conditions were not able to hold back the activities of some amphibians, especially Bufo bufo which were out in force after a very small increase in temperatures!

Full trip report to follow including a detailed species list and environmental data.
