The Captive & Field Herpetology Journal is an annual publication which aims to provide readers and researchers with natural history focussed literature from the fields of herpetology and herpetoculture. Captive and Field Herpetology bridges the gap between herpetology and herpetoculture, believing that each can benefit the other through better understanding of herpetofauna. Publications generally include observational notes both in and ex-situ, however, literature reviews, field reports and small experimental papers are accepted.
For all submissions, please see our submission guidelines and submit via the submission form below. Any submissions which do not follow the guidelines will be rejected immediately.
Upon submission, an editorial check will be carried out pre-peer-review. Following editorial checks, all suitable articles will be sent to one or more reviewers. The Captive & Field Herpetology Journal follows a double blind review process, both author and reviewer details will be kept anonymous during the review process and we aim to complete the review process within 8 weeks of submission. To strive for a thorough and fair review process, reviews and editorial notes can be requested following the publication of full volumes.
